When the two Sith lords refuse to surrender to the Jedis  the battle is on. Salmara throws a barrel of Carbonite at Opress. When he tries to block it with his lightsaber,  he cuts open the barrel and is frozen by the spillage. Darth Maul then cuts both of Dray's hands off and escapes.

Injured, Maul doesn't make it far. He is found, however, by Jatenne and her grandfather. The old man has prophesied that Darth Maul would help their take back their home in the mine from Ja'Boag. Jatenne and her kind look a bit like rabbit people. The bargain is that Maul will help them take back the mine and they will help him recover the frozen form of Opress.

Meanwhile, Dray's hands are reattached in a bacta tank and Master Judd himself begins to suspect how wrongly Ja'Boag has treated the natives of Moorjhone.
