The Jedi are winning the battle until General Grievous shows up with more reinforcements. With the Republic forces in retreat, Nexus Ortai falls to the Separatists.

The Republic is losing too many battles lately due to the larger number of Separatist ships. These ships are being manufactured by the Banking Clan even though the Clan is neutral in the war. In an effort not to attack the ship factories directly, Anakin proposes sneaking in with a small force consisting of himself, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka to sabotage them.

In order to avoid lifesign scans, Anakin convinces Obi-Wan and his troopers to undergo Carbonite freezing and to allow R2-D2 to fly the ship. He tells Ahsoka to stay behind, but she freezes herself after the rest of the company has already been frozen.

The Banking Clan planet, somewhere in the Gwori system, is being run by Overseer Juhm.

Having been informed by Chancellor Palpatine of the coming attack, the Banking Clan easily discovers R2's ship and shoots it down, but not before the clever droid dumps his carbonite-frozen masters into the planet's sea below and jets himself out of harm's way as well.

R2 locates and unfreezes Ahsoka, who then does the same for Anakin. Anakin is not happy to see her as she has disobeyed his order to stay behind. Together, they find and unfreeze the rest of their team, and then quickly find the ship factory.

Unfortunately, all the Jedi's signals are being blocked so they first have to sneak into an enemy building to contact reinforcements to bomb the factory. As Ahsoka sends her message, Overseer Juhm realizes that the Jedi invaders were not killed when their ship was destroyed, and sends battle droids to find them.

It is then that Obi-Wan and Anakin see that the Banking Clan is not using droids to build the ships, but slaves. If the Republic bombs the factory, all the slaves will be killed in the blast.

Meanwhile, Ahsoka and her troopers hide in a cave, where a large lizard-like creature attacks, forcing Ahsoka to kill it with her lightsaber.

While Obi-Wan and Anakin try to convince the slaves to fight for their freedom, Overseer Juhm convinces them to turn the Jedi in rather than fight the droids and be killed. Obi-Wan and Anakin turn themselves in rather than endanger the slaves by fighting. Eventually, Ahsoka and the troopers are also captured. R2-D2 is the only person in the party left free. The others are tied to electro-restraints, crucifix-type things that deliver electric shocks. Count Dooku wants them left there until he arrives to kill them himself.

Meanwhile, Jedi Masters Plo Koon and Tiin are making their jump through hyperspace, ready to bomb the shipyards, unaware of the presence of the slaves and with no way to contact the team on the ground.

During the night, the three Jedi use the Force to telekinetically destroy their droid guards. R2 then flies up and cuts their restraints. Knowing that the Republic bombers are on the way, the Jedi are finally able to convince the slaves to risk escape.

At dawn, the attack fleet arrives and commences bombing as those on the ground load the slaves into a nearly completed ship from the factory and take off. Moments later, Dooku arrives on planet and orders Ventress to kill Juhm for his failure.
